Cupcakes!!

So, a couple of my friends have been having this "cupcake war," which I believe has been going on for some months, now. The whole story's pretty long, so I suggest you take a look at their video documentation of it: the beginning and the response, which tells the story much better than I could. (They're also pretty funny!)

Anyway, the whole thing got me all bothered about cupcakes. I mean, seriously, when was the last time you really enjoyed a cupcake?! So I decided to bake some myself. Not only were they yummy, but they turned out beautifully, as well!

They were vanilla, with butter cream frosting on some and strawberry on the others -- and sprinkles, of course! I haven't learned how to make frosting yet, so I used store-bought and piped it on. I think I did a fantastic job!

Slouchy Hat!

I found a new hat pattern that I loooove.... I made one for myself and my sisters! And my brother, too, but I'm not sure if he'll actually wear it, haha.

Anyway, here's a picture of the variation I made. (That's little sister looking oh-so-excited to be my model/guinea pig) I named the hat La Sonrisa -- Smile. It's too colorful and happy-looking to be named anything else!

This is another hat made from the original pattern, with the pretty little puffy details and all. I like the style of these hats because they don't mess up your hair...and they're just plain cute, too.

Another One

I'm fighting the urge to type "woohoo".... I read back over my last couple of blogs, and apparently that's my favorite way to start 'em!

It kinda makes me feel excited...haha...anyway, here's another bracelet I made. The pearls are looking a little funny in this picture because I forgot to make sure the left side was behaving...see, the line is supposed to follow the curve of the petals but somehow they didn't!

It's cool, I'll fix it later. Anyway, I really like this one and thought I'd show off a little bit. So...ta-da!!!

Hope everyone is having a great November so far!

Yay for Bracelets!

Woohoo! I finished this pretty Swirly Bracelet a night or two ago...

It took a little longer than planned because I ran into a few snafus along the way. But as you can see, all is well. I plan to do a few more in different colors if this one does well on Etsy.

It's about an inch wide and fits about a 6" wrist. I actually posted a pic of it on my own wrist on Etsy, but I'll leave that out here.

Oh yeah! I'm still taking applications for hand models. I had to wave mine around in the air like a crazy person for about ten minutes to get those giant veins of mine to shrink a little before the picture turned out well enough!! It's no fun. So come on people, step up. I need your hands.

Happy Birthday!!

Woohoo! I baked a cake for my Hunny's birthday... I think it turned out quite well, if I do say so myself. It was vanilla with chocolate frosting. Baking a cake might not sound so difficult, but you'd be surprised what kind of adventures I can have in a kitchen!!

I don't have a cake tray or whatever they're called, so I had to improvise with a large plate turned upside-down. Anyway, here's some pictures of my creation!!

Yummy! And look -- I even put a layer of frosting in the middle. I'm so talented :)

Guilty

I make fun of people who are obsessed with their animals. But now I have been forced to admit to myself that I am guilty.

When I came across this picture of a hand-made Chihuahua sweater on Crochetville, I found myself imagining how I could make one for my own dog.

He's a little bit bigger than this guy, though. And a lot cuter, too.

Yeah, yeah, so I want to make a sweater for my dog. He'll wear it, too. He'll wear it and he'll like it.

This sweater was made by "Lubba my kiddos" on Crochetville, with her dog Harley modeling. See her post here.

These are a few of my favorite things....

I looooove these clothes from Etsy! (I'm beginning to think I have become addicted...) The designer is CircularAccessories...

There are quite a few others on her shop that I adore, but I need to get some sleep for now. Just keep this stuff in mind, Christmas is on it's way!!
